Describing Condition Honestly
Every seller is tempted to leave out the small faults. A loose thread, a faded patch, a mark that will not quite wash out. It feels like mentioning them will put buyers off. In practice the opposite is true: the faults a buyer is told about rarely matter, and the ones they discover when the parcel opens are the ones that lead to complaints.
Say how worn it is in plain words
New with tags, worn a few times, well loved: buyers understand simple descriptions like these straight away. Pick the one that is true and put it near the top of the listing, where nobody can miss it.
Name the specific faults
If there is a pulled thread on the left side or the colour has faded at the seams, say exactly that. A specific note reads as honest. A vague phrase like minor signs of wear makes a careful buyer wonder what you are not saying.
Show it in a photograph
If a fault is worth mentioning, it is worth a close photograph. Seeing it lets the buyer judge for themselves, and most of the time they will decide it does not matter at all.
Describe how it has been kept
A line about how the item has been stored and cared for helps a buyer picture what will arrive. Folded in a drawer, kept away from sunlight, washed by hand: small details like these build confidence.
Price to match the condition
An item with visible wear should be priced a little below a perfect one. When the price and the description agree, buyers feel they are getting a fair deal rather than being caught out.
Honesty brings buyers back
A buyer who receives exactly what you described trusts the next listing they see from you. That trust is worth far more than any single sale you might lose by being open about a fault.
