Leaving a Review That Helps Other Buyers

KinkMarket · · 3 min read

When you are deciding whether to buy from someone new, reviews from earlier buyers are often the thing that tips you one way or the other. Leaving one yourself is a small way to return the favour, and a thoughtful review is worth far more than a row of stars on its own.

Say what you bought

A line about the item gives the review context. Another buyer looking at something similar will know your experience applies to them.

Mention the things that matter

Was the item as described? Did it arrive when you expected? Was it packaged discreetly and with care? Did the seller answer your questions? These are the details other buyers are trying to find out, so a sentence on each is ideal.

Keep personal details out

A review is public. Leave out anything private about yourself or the seller, such as names, addresses or the content of personal messages. Describe the experience, not the people.

Be fair when something went wrong

If there was a problem, give the seller a chance to put it right before you write about it. If they did, say so, because how someone handles a mistake tells a buyer a great deal. If they did not, describe what happened calmly and stick to the facts.

Write it while it is fresh

The best time to leave a review is a day or two after your order arrives, while you still remember the details. A few honest sentences, written soon, help the whole marketplace feel a little safer for everyone who comes after you.
