Replying to a Buyer Who Asks for a Discount

KinkMarket · · 3 min read

Sooner or later a buyer will ask if you can do a better price. It is not rude, and it is not a reason to panic. A calm reply, whatever the answer, usually keeps the sale alive.

Decide your rule before anyone asks

Know in advance whether you ever discount, and on what. Some sellers never move on price, some will for bundles, some for returning buyers. Having a rule means you answer the same way every time and never feel pushed.

Say no kindly

If the answer is no, say so warmly and briefly. Thank them for asking, explain that your prices already reflect the care that goes into each item, and invite them to look again whenever they are ready.

Offer something other than money

Instead of lowering the price, you can add value: a small extra, a little more wear time, faster posting. The buyer feels looked after and your prices stay where they are.

Use bundles

A buyer asking for money off one item can often be offered a fair price for two. They get the deal they wanted and you make a bigger sale.

Do not argue

If someone keeps pushing after a clear answer, you do not owe them a debate. A polite final reply is enough. The buyers worth keeping are the ones who respect your prices.
