Gym wear sells for more than everyday wear because the buyer is not paying for the fabric, they are paying for the workout. That means the category only works if you actually train. If you do, this is one of the best value per hour categories on the marketplace.

What sells and why

Leggings, sports bras, gym socks, vests and shorts, roughly in that order. The value comes from intensity and duration. A ninety minute session sells for more than a twenty minute stretch, and buyers ask which it was. Synthetic activewear fabrics hold scent strongly, which is precisely why the category exists.

Log the session

Keep it simple and true. What you did, how long, how hard. "Worn for a seventy minute leg session, squats and deadlifts, no shower after" is a listing. "Worn to the gym" is not. This specificity is what separates a marketplace listing from a throwaway post, and it is the same thinking behind writing a listing that actually sells. Buyers pay for the detail, so give them the detail.

Photographs

Shoot after the session, not before. Post workout photographs look like post workout photographs and buyers can tell. Daylight, plain background, worn on the body, and include a close shot of the fabric. If you are showing sweat, show it honestly rather than staging it with water. Nothing kills a repeat buyer faster than a faked proof shot.

Pricing gym wear

Price above your standard worn rate. A gym worn pair of leggings typically starts around forty to fifty pounds plus postage, more for a long or intense session, more again if the buyer specified the workout. Sports bras sit similarly. Gym socks are the cheap entry point and a good way to bring a new buyer into the category before they commit to a bigger item.

Fulfilment and timing

Bag it straight after the session while it is still fresh, press the air out, and post the same day or the next morning. Do not let a gym item sit for a week in a drawer, because the whole product degrades and the buyer will know. If you cannot post promptly, do not take the order until you can.

Look at your training week. Pick the hardest session you have coming up, and list the leggings you will wear to it as a pre order with the session described in advance.
